quiffsamazingworld:pubs

On this page, you will read my amazing reviews of the various Pubs of Bangor. Now, i'm not very fussy, so practically all the pubs will get great reviews. So long as the lager is cold, the vodka sharp, and the atmosphere smoke filled and deep; i'm a happy chappy.

There will be a better review system with stars and numbers here soon, but i can't really be bothered at the moment. I'm meant to be revising you know.

O'Sheas

O'Sheas on the High Street,is the pub I always seem to end up in at last orders. Its probably the best pub in Bangor, because its got a great dank atmosphere and its bloody authentic; not like Wetherspoons.. Its a really Irish pub, and even has a Map of Ireland on the ceiling (If i'm that drunk, i'm going to be staring at the floor or the toilet pan; not the ceiling). O'Sheas booze is great, although you must have superb Bar Technique in this pub. Always busy. Great Pub.

The Menai

The Menai is in Upper Bangor, and is usually the starting place for a night-out. Its got two pool tables, video jukebox and usually shows the big Rugby/Footy games on the Big Screen. Big-ass comfy sofas and foam cushion things are the best things about The Menai. Lager is the only thing i would ever buy from here, because its cheap and cold. Nice place to start off the night, but don't intend on staying there longer than an hour.

Patricks

Patricks is in Upper Bangor, just across the road from HSBC. Not that you need to know that, as Patricks is one of the cheapest proper pubs in Bangor. Its the other Irish pub in Bangor, and isn't quite as good as O'Sheas. Its always really busy at about 8-ish, so go there early. They have got really high stools everywhere, which pisses me off. I like to be low when i'm drunk. It cuts the chances of me breaking my neck, stepping down.

Rascals

Rascals on Glanrafon Hill is the 'Sports Bar' of Bangor (If there is such a thing). Its got a massive video wall which shows loads of sports and stuff, but i never really watch it to be honest. They play a lot of upbeat, almost dance music which is great if your heading down to Time later. Good tasting booze here, even if it is a tad expensive. Great pool table area to hang out in. Good pub.

Yr Hen Glan

First things first, if you're going to the Glan, go with someone with a 'Yellow Card', otherwise its going to cost a fortune. I learnt this lesson the hard way when I bought two WKD's for £5.10!!! Other than that, the Glan is always busy, and Monday Night is Karaoke night, which is kinda funny. Good place to go before Time, as its only over the road. Beware of the expensive booze though.

Wetherspoons

The ultimate cheap pub in Bangor, where a pint of Lager on a good night will set you back as little as £1.50. Lager is always cold and watered down. Everything else is alright, i guess. I don't like it though. Its just like a Cattle-Market for drunks. Damn it, we're so easy. The balcony thing outside is quite good though; even though the seats are usually wet, and its cold enough for icicles to grow in your Carling.

The Ship

Always busy and always difficult to get a pint. I barely venture in there, unless i'm persuaded or i have no where else to go. Close to the Octagon though. Also close to Maes G, which is never a good thing.
